As an expert in marrying firms with clients, Robert is a founder and principal of RFP Associates, a communications agency search firm. His career spans 25 years and began in New York at the preeminent firm, Rubenstein Associates. In Washington since the mid-90’s, Udowitz has practiced at several of the city’s top public affairs/public relations/crisis firms and has worked for public-traded corporations and trade associations. His private practice today includes a consulting shingle as well as RFP Associates, which he created to improve the request for proposal process for organizations seeking communications, marketing and branding services.
Udowitz holds a BA in Communications from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. In 2006 he was appointed Board Member of Washington Independent Writers. Since the 1980’s Udowitz has been a member of the Public Relations Society of America and has served on its Board and in various executive capacities, including treasurer. He was also a founder of the DC Tech Communicators Forum and a current board member of the Independent Public Relations Alliance.
